Too cool for school: A vintage postcard lineup as a kitchen backsplash.
Extra points for the recycle and the funk-factor.
Thanks to a freewheelin’ friend of mine, I have a stash of incredibly non-scenic — but ironically awesome — Technicolor postcards from the ’60s. Aside from a brief stint as a mobile, these gems have been sitting in a treasure box for years. And now that I’ve got kitchen decor on the brain, this timely post has given me a great new plan for those boxed-up mini-missives. The idea? From Creating Vintage Style, by Lucinda Ganderton. Sold at Amazon alongside a book called Junk Style. Lovin’ it already. On hold at the library, along with the title Decorating Junk Market Style. Totally rad.
Thanks, Gregory @ AT, for posting.

Wow, what a cool idea. I myself have plans to someday use postcards as a wall trim up high around my bedroom walls using a picture rail so I can switch them out if my interests change.

I love that idea. Vintage postcards are so rad, right?
Yes, postcards are rad; probably why I not only sell, but collect them. I actually got that idea while touring the Congdon Mansion in Duluth, MN. They’ve got picture rails throughout the 1st floor.
