Living Small in the News!

June 7, 2008

Hey, hey, hey! The Living Small house (and its residents) are featured in a tiny house story in today’s issue of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Interest piqued? Grab a copy from the nearest dispenser and/or newsie.

If you live outside paper-purchasing distance, check out the online version (with pics!).

Some other Smalls are featured, too. Pretty cool that the local daily has its hooks in the Small-living trend.

Thanks to reporter Cecelia Goodnow and photographer Scott Ecklund — it was a pleasure!

Yay! That was a well-written article with pretty good pictures. I was really interested in the woman “poaching” her friends’ backyard lol.

When I do your home’s highlight, I’ll try to remember to include a link to this article. For those unfamiliar with tiny living I think it would be encouraging to see the increased public acceptance of refusing the McMansion-type homes.

    Hear from you soon.

I just read the P-I article and had to check out your blog. We are exploring what living small looks like with a family of six. One thing it does mean is that our four kids have to get along — there’s no place to go off on your own to sulk! It means a lot of sharing and cooperation — pretty good lessons for life. Thanks for the good read and inspiration!

  3. Amy: Thanks! The 84-square-foot Tumbleweed Tiny House in Olympia is the ultimate in living Small, isn’t it? I love that little place. I’ll email you this weekend re: Tiny Lifers. Thanks again for the invitation to participate!

Jenny: Family of six — wow! I’ve found that even in our little abode, my husband and I can’t really “go off on [our] own to sulk,” as you said. It absolutely makes cooperation necessary. Glad you found the article, and my blog. Keep on livin’ the bitty-life.

  5. Thanks, Stacey. There are happy times in this small space, for sure.

And check this out: the story was picked up by the Oregonian blog. Pretty cool.

  6. More pickups: Apartment Therapy San Fran posted, as well. Wowie-wow.
